Privacy Policy for Translator Lite

Translator Lite does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, keystrokes, or browsing activities. All translation tasks and language preference storage (chrome.storage.local) occur locally on your device or via browser-level standard processing. We do not maintain any external tracking servers or third-party analytics.

🔒

Zero Data Collection & Transmission

Translator Lite operates with complete privacy. None of your typed text, input form data, passwords, or personal credentials are ever recorded, intercepted, or sent across the internet to any external servers.

💻

Local On-Device Storage

The extension uses standard Chrome local storage (chrome.storage.local) strictly on your local machine to remember your selected target language (e.g., Spanish, English, Korean) and shortcut preferences. This data remains on your physical device.

🚫

No Analytics or Tracking Scripts

We do not integrate Google Analytics, telemetry packages, cookies, ad networks, fingerprinting scripts, or any third-party marketing services.

🔑

Minimal Permissions Justification

Translator Lite requests only the minimum required Chrome Extension permissions:

  • storage: To remember your target language preference locally.
  • activeTab / Content Scripts: To translate text in-place only when you actively trigger the shortcut (Alt + R).
